Organelle and Urban Visuals were selected among a talented group of artists and designers as winners of the Necklace Project Competition for the City of Surrey. A public art project, it is conceived as an environment responsive, light-based installation along the elevated Skytrain line. The piece is activated by the confluence of transportation modes via a series of vibration, acoustic and electrostatic sensors. The result is an organic, aurora borealis-like display of colors that celebrates technology and alternative means of transport. Completed September 2011.
